Software Solutions for Mobile Telephony and Navigation Systems

OpenRide offers a software solution for mobile telephony but can also be integrated in existing navigation systems. This means that drivers and passengers while on the move can spontaneously offer rides or search for rides in their immediate vicinity.

Depending on the technology of the mobile end device, the position of the driver and passenger is automatically identified by cell or satellite localization, transmitted and evaluated by the search engine as ancillary information.

With this mobile solution there is no need for a minimum lead time for the posting and search for ride adverts as there is with traditional rideshare agencies. The whole process of bringing drivers and passengers together becomes much quicker and much more convenient. And this means that there is now room for spontaneous short distance rides (such as journeys within a particular city) while a new market segment can be opened and exploited.
